Legacy Community Health proudly hosted the 2025 Little Readers Fiesta at the River Oaks home of Paige Fertitta, celebrating a decade of the organization’s commitment to early childhood literacy. The event, presented by H-E-B and chaired by Lisa Helfman, welcomed more than 150 guests for an evening filled with celebration, community, and purpose.

This year’s Fiesta honored the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation‘s steadfast dedication to advancing literacy throughout Greater Houston. The Foundation and H-E-B are partners in Legacy’s Little Readers program, which promotes childhood literacy and reading aloud by providing every pediatric patient with a free book and a “prescription to read” at each well-child visit. Since 2015, the program has distributed nearly 300,000 books to children across the community.

“We are deeply honored to recognize the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation for its incredible contributions to literacy,” said Chree Boydstun. “Together, we inspire a new generation of readers and future leaders.”

Guests enjoyed festive drinks, including tequila (donated by Titanium Tequila) and sangria (donated by Queen Bee Distilling) alongside a vibrant Mexican buffet. The Fiesta successfully raised nearly $250,000, with all proceeds benefiting the continued growth and impact of the Little Readers program.

Legacy Community Health extends sincere gratitude to its generous 2025 sponsors: HEB, ExxonMobil, Sidney Faust, Paige Fertitta and family, Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, Memorial Hermann, Bastion Technologies, Rob and Georgina Ladd, Regina Rogers, Kashay and Steve Crawford, Rosanette Cullen, Fifth Third Bank, Rebekah and Hao Le, Chree Boydstun, Lauren and George Mattuzzi, Pinnacle Environmental Services, Titanium Tequila, Tootsies, and Richard Flowers and the Events Company.
