Houston Chefs Raise Money for Adoption

On November 10, 2022, Pathways for Little Feet will be hosting its seventh annual Little Plates Chef Competition at the Houstonian Hotel, Club, and Spa, from 6:30 P.M to 9:30 P.M. This fundraising event coincides with the observance of National Adoption Month in November. The Chairs for the event are Mrs. Liz McIngvale-Mackey, Matt Mackey, and Bill Stubbs. In addition, Pathways will be honoring Hamman Foundation for its ongoing support throughout the years.

All proceeds from the event benefit Pathways for Little Feet by providing adoption financial assistance and post-placement counseling, therapy, and other resources. More than 300 guests will be the judge as 14 Houston chefs serve their signature dishes. In addition, there will be an open bar, a silent auction, and a wine pull. Enjoy mingling while the chefs prepare the most creative and patron-favorite offerings. “I help where and when I can simply because I imagine a world where everyone helps everyone else, whenever they can,” says Pedro A. Garcia, El Meson Executive Chef, and Owner.

Founded in 2008, Pathways for Little Feet has helped families with Adoption Financial Assistance through an interest-free loan program. While on their journey to adopt, nearly 650 families have received financial assistance since the organization’s founding, totaling more than $3.8M. The Post Adoption Support program includes counseling and therapy grants for marriage counseling, the child, the family, the adult adoptee, or the birth mom. “Adoptions can involve a complex mix of brokenness and beauty. We thank our supporters for helping us build financial bridges and forge paths to support our families,” said Mindy LeBlanc, Executive Director of Pathways for Little Feet.
