Celebrated Local Music Venue White Oak Music Hall Toasts to Five Years, Thousands of Concerts & Nearly One Million Fans Welcomed

Five years ago, White Oak Music Hall (WOMH) ushered in a new era of live music in Houston and quickly became a cultural institution for both touring and local musicians.  Honoring the legacies of historic Houston venues, White Oak Music Hall concert venue provides Houston-based, regional, national, and international performing artists with a state-of-the-art facility to utilize as their artistic playground for music lovers of all genres. The spacious venue has attracted hundreds of internationally acclaimed and award-winning artists from all over the world.

To celebrate, WOMH will host a fan appreciation “birthday” party on Saturday, August 21, starting at 7 pm.  The event, which is free for 21+ and $5 for under 21, will include the diverse musical stylings of Ruckus (folk rock), Camera Cult (indie rock/pop), Marley Moon (singer-songwriter), –iLL LiaD(hip-hop) and  Hiram (DJ, playing a montage of artists that have performed at White Oak Music Hall over the years). At the party, attendees can expect giveaways throughout the night and reduced drink prices including $3 Bud  Light beers, $3 White Claw Hard Seltzers, and $5 Deep Eddy cocktails. Local bakery Bundt Cake-A-Holic  will also be providing hundreds of complimentary servings of alcohol-infused “birthday cake” for guests to help celebrate.

An RSVP to the event is required to attend, although does not guarantee entry (which will be on a first-come, first-served basis). Fans can RSVP here: https://bit.ly/WOMH5year

Since it opened its doors in the Near Northside neighborhood in 2016, WOMH has hosted close to 1,700  concerts, seen nearly one million concertgoers enter its doors, and has overcome numerous challenges,  including Hurricane Harvey and the global COVID-19 pandemic. As a haven for musicians and performers through it all, White Oak is taking the opportunity to reflect upon indelible memories created over the past half-decade before shifting back to its momentous present. Since May of this year, White Oak has put 145  shows on sale, including a venue record 57 in June alone. Those figures stand in stark contrast to the calendar year period of March 2019 to March 2020, during which WOMH put less than 50 shows on sale.

“We’re constantly amazed and thankful for the outpouring of love and support from White Oak’s ardent supporters and fans over the past five years; they raised nearly $70,000 for furloughed venue staff in April of last year when the pandemic was really taking its toll on the industry,” said White Oak Music Hall Co-Managing Partner and Pegstar Concerts Principal Jagi Katial. He added, “We started with just a vision to take live music in Houston to another level, but with the support of artists, patrons, staff, investors, sponsors,  and the City of Houston, we have weathered many challenges. This anniversary celebration is just a small  way of saying thank you as we continue to build upon the foundation we’ve established for years to come.”
