Parkway Young Professionals ushered in the season with its first-ever holiday happening. In addition to serving as a successful toy drive for The Salvation Army, the festive event was an opportunity to celebrate the boosters of the citywide yp organization, launched earlier this year with the support of Parkway. The national real estate investment firm operates landmark Houston office campuses, including Greenway Plaza and Uptown’s Post Oak Central.

Intending to create something a bit out of the ordinary, the planning committee landed on Lewis & Maese–Sawyer Yards as the venue. The First Ward warehouse, brimming with quirky and collectible treasures, including vintage horse carriages, classic signs, and dozens of glistening chandeliers, was beautifully lit by 360 AV Design, creating a magical backdrop for the merriment.

Vintage furniture from an array of eras was repurposed as seating, bars and serving tables. An antique credenza found new life as a stylish podium for DJ Men-Yo, who kept the party past the invitation time.

And there were numerous reasons not to leave. Events360 kept glasses and plates full with signature cocktails, a crudite grazing table and a bounty of delectable heavy hors d’oeuvres. They also provided several décor flourishes. Adding to the fun was a Dough Cone hot cocoa and cider bar with all the trimmings for both non-alcoholic and spiked treats.

Conceived around the theme of “to give and to get”, as a thank you for donations, guests were entered into raffles that included an overnight stay at The Woodlands Resort, hundreds of dollars in gift cards for the nearby Loft18 interactive sports bar, and grill, plus a voucher for Lewis & Maese where guests began filling their Christmas shopping lists that evening with drinks in hand.
