Hannah McNair: Houston’s First Lady of Football
Redefining What NFL Leadership Looks Like.
Hannah McNair occupies an unusual intersection of football ownership, executive leadership, philanthropy, women’s sports, and Houston society and fashion. The wife of Houston Texans principal owner Cal McNair was elevated in March 2026 to Chief Community Officer and Vice President of the Houston Texans Foundation, putting her in the club’s executive leadership structure and giving her responsibility for connecting the Texans’ business growth with its community mission.
McNair serves on the NFL Flag Football Working Group, helping guide a sport that will make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. In Houston, she has championed girls flag football since the Texans launched their program in 2023. By 2026, it had expanded to more than 150 high schools and 3,750 female athletes across Texas.
Cal and Hannah increasingly appear together at NFL meetings and in interviews discussing the franchise, its players and its future. The Houston Chronicle recently interviewed them together about everything from C.J. Stroud and the team’s Super Bowl ambitions to the massive new Toro District development in Bridgeland.
And then there’s the style.
McNair has developed a recognizable fashion presence at NFL and Texans events—the Houston Chronicle specifically noted her affinity for Christian Dior—while simultaneously building a serious philanthropic résumé. She was inducted into the Greater Houston Women Chamber of Commerce’s Texas Women’s Hall of Fame in 2024, and the Texans Foundation has now raised more than $51 million since its creation.
So it may be the nickname “Queen of the NFL” isn’t an official title; Hannah McNair certainly is our “First Lady of Football’
