The Houston Auto Show

The 2013 Houston Auto show is taking over the entire Reliant Center from Wednesday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 27 to celebrate its 30th anniversary. This year’s show truly has something for everyone, below are the top six reasons you should cover and attend the Houston Auto Show.

1) Camp Jeep

Jeep® is bringing Camp Jeep®, a unique, interactive, off-road experience, to consumers attending this year’s Houston Auto Show. The Jeep Test Track is an interactive adventure zone where professional 4×4 drivers allow riders to experience a Jeep’s on and off-road capabilities. The course will consist of several obstacles that simulate some of the rigorous testing that Jeep vehicles endure before customers get behind the wheel.

2) Indoor and Outdoor “Ride & Drives”

This year attendees will have the opportunity to test drive over 60 models with the expanded indoor (for the first time) and outdoor “Ride & Drive” lounges. Ride & Drives will be available throughout the show from Wednesday through Friday. Vehicles available to test drive include various makes and models from Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge, Volkswagen, Kia, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Honda, GMC, Hyundai, Mazda and Nissan. 3) Eco-friendly Cars

The show will feature various makes and models for those gas and environmentally friendly spectators. The list includes 2013 Ford Fusion Energi (Plug-in Hybrid), 2013 Ford C-MAX Energi (Plug-in Hybrid), 2012 Sonata Hybrid, Toyota SEMA Avalon Hybrid and Toyota ns4 Advance Plug-in Hybrid.

4) High-End Luxury Boutique

Everyone wants to feel like a movie star once awhile, so why not come to the Houston Auto Show and indulge yourself. Attendees can see vehicles “up close and personal” that the celebs are cruising around town in. The high-end luxury boutique will have makes and models from Aston Martin, Lotus, Land Rover, Jaguar, Lamborghini and Porsche.

5) Texas/Houston Debut The 2013 Auto Show will be home to the first Texas debut of multiple makes and models including the BMW Z4 sDrive35is and 328i Sports Wagon (F31) and the 2014 GMC Sierra. Houston debuts include the Ford Fusion Energi, 2013 Lincoln MKZ, the Toyota RAV4 and the Toyota SEMA Avalon Hybrid.

6) Celebrity Appearances

The Houston Auto Show is thrilled to have two celebrities attend and participate in this year’s Show. We have Indy Car Series driver, Graham Rahal, that will be making an appearance and signing autographs on Saturday Jan. 26 from 3-4 p.m. Graham Rahal is an IZOD IndyCar Series driver and the son of 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Bobby Rahal. He has raced for the last two years with Chip Ganassi Racing using a Honda engine.

In addition, we have country singer Tracy Byrd that will be at the “Dealer Services International” exhibitor space and signing autographs on Sunday, Jan. 27 between 1-3 p.m. Tracy Byrd’s hits are well known among legions of country music fans and routinely spun by radio programmers from coast to coast. Since signing his first record deal in 1992, Byrd has become one of country music’s core artists, a Texas born traditionalist.
